CPR A, C, HCP (Health Care Provider)

This course includes CPR Guidelines 2009
This course is designed to provide various levels of CPR training based on participant's background, needs and interest. A presentation on how to use an Automated External Defibrillation (and certification) is also provided with the course where local legislation permits.

About these courses
  • 3-year certification or as medical control allows, or legislation or professional designation dictates
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillation) content and certification included where local legislation permits
  • CPR Levels:
    • Level A: covers skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for people aged 8 and over; intended for workplace and general public; 4 hrs
    • Level C: covers skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking in Adults, Children, and Babies; intended for families, parents, general public, child care professionals, and professional rescuers, (i.e. Police, Firefighters, Lifeguards, etc.); 6 hrs
    • Level HCP (Healthcare Provider): covers all CPR Level C course material plus 2-person infant CPR and use of a Bag-Valve-Mask; intended for healthcare providers (physicians, nurses, paramedics and Allied Healthcare Providers - RT, OT, PT); 6 hrs
  • Conducted by a certified Red Cross First Aid or CPR Instructor
No prerequisite or pre-course assignment is required.

This course includes First Aid & CPR Guidelines 2009 and meets OHS regulations for Basic First Aid
Simple First Aid & CPR techniques taught in an interactive environment, for individuals who want an overview of First Aid & CPR for the workplace or home. The course covers skills needed to recognize, prevent and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for Adults, CPR Level A, and other topics such as choking, airway and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission.

Marine Basic (EFA/ A) (Emergency First Aid)

Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR. Meets Transport Canada Training Program Standards in Marine First Aid (TP 13008E)
This course provides an overview of First Aid and CPR techniques with scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry. The course covers the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for all age groups; CPR Level C; and other topics including choking, airway and breathing emergencies, as well as prevention of disease transmission.

Comprehensive First Aid & CPR training for individuals who need training for child care or early childhood education work, or who simply want more knowledge to respond to babies' and children's injuries and emergencies at home. The course covers a variety of topics from basic first aid such as cardiovascular emergencies, CPR Level B, choking, airway and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission to more in-depth topics such as sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine.
